Admissions
We attract pupils from a wide area and there is no selection process. We look forward to having the opportunity to show you around.
More information regarding admissions can be found on the Wokingham Borough Council website.
Transfer from Infants to Juniors
Most of our Year 3 intake comes from our partner school, Polehampton Infant School. The strength of the relationship between our schools helps to ensure a smooth transistion for the children as they enter Key Stage 2 education.
Information is passed from the Infant School to ensure continuity and a series of familiarisation visits and activities are organised to help prepare the children for their new environment. These activities include a 'Buddy Scheme' in which Year 2 children are paired with children in Year 5 during the summer term before transfer. As Year 6 children, the Buddies then take care of the new Year 3 children while they settle into their new school.
A-Z Guide for School Routines
This document is intended as a guide to the procedures and day-to-day routines at our school. Please let us know if there is anything else that should be included. As partners in your child's education, we will work together to achieve success for your child and ensure that he/she is fully equipped to move on to secondary school.
Visit the 'Downloads' section of our School Information page for consent forms and documents that we will need completed for new pupils.
The House System
Children are assigned to one of four Houses: Stanlake, Penn, Chiswick or Loddon. The names of the Houses have their origins in the locality and children learn about them when they arrive. Each House elects a girl and boy House Capatain and a girl and boy Vice Captain. They take responsibility for organising competitions during the year.
Through belonging to their House, the children develop a sense of pride and loyalty. The children work hard to gain House Points and these act as a positive reward. The House system provides a framework for healthy competition throughout the school.
We keep family traditions going and children will follow older siblings, parents and even grandparents into the same House. It's great to hear parents cheer for their old Houses at sporting occasions.
